This report presents an in-depth analysis of violent extremism and religious radicalization as a national and international phenomenon. A comparative approach will be adopted in assessing the international and regional dynamics of this phenomenon. In turn, this report will provide a comprehensive understanding of the socio-economic, ideological and other factors that drive the radicalization of Albanian citizens, as well as the capacity of government and society to combat extremism.
Such an analysis will ultimately provide a better understanding of the implications that arise from the development of the phenomenon with respect to national security and the development of the state.
